Good weather today for a 140km drive from Walpole to Albany. We drove through forests nearer Walpole but as we approached Denmark there was more open ground, providing for dairy and beef herds and an occasional vineyard. Some of the dairy herds were very large, at a guess, 300 cows strong.
Green's Pool and Elephant Rocks earned our attention first. Green's Pool is a placid portion on the ocean beach west of Denmark. There are rocks spread "carelessly" around the pool which added to the spectacle. Further along the beach to the west, rocks, sand and waves proliferated and there was an occasional bombie to add to the beauty. A snake in the car park provided diversity.
Elephant Rocks were spectacular to say the least. Very large granite boulders, rounded and bare, stood immovable, along the shoreline. The surf worried its way through the rocks and by the time the waves reached the beach they were spent and merely lapped the white sand.

Denmark is larger than Walpole but Albany is by far the biggest town of the three and yes, they do have windmills in Denmark - two only.
Denmark is on the Wilson Inlet and we followed its shores down to a delightful beach called Ocean Beach. It was sunny and there were some hardy souls swimming. The surf was small but one could imagine a beautiful point surf here with a decent swell.

We continued on a tourist drive towards Albany. We expect to be back along this stretch of road over the next day or two, particularly as the scene below provides such an incentive. Albany too, has windmills.
