Day 213 - Adelaide to Cape Jervis

Today started out well, cool but sunny, perfect for travelling the 107km to Cape Jervis, the western most point on the Fleurieu Peninsula.  The last task each travelling day is to check to make sure the lights are working on the van.  Alas, one of the indicators was not working.

We checked all we could without success so in the end we sought help from a nearby auto electrician.  Five hours later and with new lights for both the indicators, we went our merry way.  Economics aside, they were good auto electricians.

The drive to Cape Jervis was uneventful and it was good to eventually leave the city behind us.  The roads were poor again which did not help the driver's demeanour.  We continued yesterday's experience of up hill and down dale.  The whole of the Fleurieu Peninsulia is covered in mountains and valleys and the road, as well as up and down, went side to side as we negotiated hundreds of corners.

Initially we passed through vineyards, the southern vales, and they were picturesque, planted on the sides of the hills and in the valleys.  By the time we entered the Fleurieu Peninsula proper, we were into dairy country with occasional beef herds and flocks of sheep.

We passed through some lovely little towns and we may visit them again before we leave.

It was quite enjoyable to see Kangaroo Island for the first time because we knew we were not far from Cape Jervis.  Cape Jervis is the port for the ferries servicing Kangaroo Island.

Our caravan park tonight is in Cape Jervis Station, which is a working farm.  Hope the corellas don't play their noisy games for too long.
