A cool morning at 14 degrees saw us saying auf wiedersehen to Nuriootpa. We had no plan of where we might stop tonight. As a result we ended up at Burra, a mere 116km away. To do so we passed through Eudunda and Robertstown.
Eudunda is the birthplace of Colin Thiele, author and educator. His better known novels include Storm Boy, Blue Fin, the Sun on the Stubble series and February Dragon. The road sign at Eudunda filled us with apprehension as we were to travel the Worlds End Highway. Our fears were misplaced because it was a pleasant drive on a quiet highway. We haven't been able to find out why it was so named.
Robertstown described itself as "Next door to the Worlds End". So the mystery continues.

It was "goodbye" to the grapevines and "hello" once again to the wheat and barley fields. The fields went right up to the range of hills which accompanied us on our LHS. Can only assume these were the foothills of the Flinders Ranges.
We were influenced to stop at Burra because of all the activity in the town. We found there is a country music celebration on this evening and during the day there were some family activities. These included boat races with a variety of craft, in the local creek, which passes through the middle of the town. None of the craft was particularly sea worthy.

So busy was Burra we were lucky to get a spot at the local caravan park. Incidentally, the caravan park is on the creek, so we didn't have to go far to see the races.
We experienced some rain today. There was not much but it was heaviest at the time we were setting up the van in the caravan park.
