We had a fitful night's sleep last night so bad was the wind. However today dawned sunny but cool and the day improved progressively, reaching 21 degrees with a diminished wind.
We moved approximately 80km west from Devenport to Wynyard. The road hugged the coast pretty much and we passed through a number of towns on the way including Ulverston, Burnie and Penguin. It was a pleasant trip. The roads were good and the traffic well behaved, no rushing here.
We spent the afternoon sightseeing along the coast. The coast is not the most spectacular we have seen and there is no surf. Timber exports seem to be a major activity for Burnie. Exports are made as chips or logs.

The highlight of the day was a visit to a whisky distillery, the Hellyers Road Distillery in Burnie. A tour of the distillery was the order of the day, as was a tasting and the decanting of Diane's very own bottle of cask strength whisky (65% alcohol) from a barrel.

A full day, pardon the pun, but it was most enjoyable given the wind has taken a holiday elsewhere.
