Day 12 - Wynyard to Stanley

Another overcast day greeted us for our departure to Stanley, 62km from Wynyard and we experienced rain off and on for the whole trip.  We were a little damp by the time we had set up camp.

Our trip took us past Port Latta where Grange Resources processes its Savage River Mine concentrate into iron ore pellets.  There is an export wharf at Port Latta too.  Savage River has an open pit iron ore mine and a concentrating plant at the mine site.  The concentrated ore is transported to Port Latta through an 88km steel pipeline which runs through some of Tasmania's roughest terrain.

Stanley is a small seaside village and is dominated by a large rocky outcrop called The Nut.  It will bear exploring over the next day or so, weather permitting.

Relaxed day today and will be watching the cricket.  Fortunately the rain looks to have moved on however we are reluctant to make positive predictions.
