Day 32 - More of Alice Springs

After a tiresome morning dealing with cameras and their relationships with computers (sorry if some frustration is showing), we took a look at two Alice Springs sites - the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) and the School of the Air (SoA) with "The World's Biggest Classroom".  Both are world leaders in their areas of activity.  They are heavily communication oriented and the process of teaching via satellite and internet was to say the least, educational. The schools' real time internet teaching is supplemented by a comprehensive hard copy communication system and the children spend as much time learning as do children in a normal school.  The RFDS serves communities Australia wide and has extended its reach simply beyond the outback.  It has 61 aircraft operating throughout Australia.
