Today we
travelled from Alice Springs 342km north to a free park at Taylors Creek. We have concluded our visit to the Red Centre
and are now heading to Tennant Creek, Katherine, Kakadu and all points north. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Red
Centre, but have to admit, at times, it was hard work. It was Red Centre by
name and by nature and even tonight we have red dirt at our doorstep. There is not a lot to see on the road north
from Alice Springs, only a couple of monuments, which we dutifully
photographed. It was heavily overcast
all day and we got 25,207 small rain spots on our windscreen during the day. They
didn’t even join together. Even now it remains overcast but with no rain.
